Back to School… and Suddenly There’s a Birthday Party to Plan!
The children are back at school, the uniforms are labelled and the lunch boxes have finally been found. Then it hits you: your child’s birthday is coming up and you need to organise a party!
Before the class WhatsApp group starts suggesting twenty different ideas, take a breath. A brilliant children’s party does not have to mean weeks of planning, mountains of mess or spending the whole celebration trying to keep everyone entertained.
Here are five simple steps to take the stress out of organising your child’s party this term.
1. Choose the Right Party Package
Start with the birthday child. What do they genuinely enjoy?
At The Crafty Club and Parties, children can choose from creative crafts, themed parties, pampering, teddy bears and Squishmallows. Activities include slime, bath bombs, tie-dye, jewellery making, canvas painting and plenty more.
Our current packages are:
Creative Crafters and themed creative parties — £295 for up to 10 children.
Teddy Bear, Squishmallow and Pamper & Craft parties — £295 for up to 8 children.
All parties are fully hosted, so you do not need to plan the entertainment or persuade ten excited children to listen. That is our job!
2. Check Availability and Secure Your Date
Once you have chosen the party style, check that your preferred date is available.
Think about whether a morning or afternoon celebration works best for your family and guests. Booking early gives you the best choice, particularly during the busy autumn and Christmas terms.
A £50 deposit secures your date. The final theme, activities, guest numbers and remaining balance are due seven days before the party, giving you plenty of time to confirm the details without everything becoming a last-minute scramble.
3. Decide Where to Hold the Party
You can host your party at home or hire a local community hall or suitable venue.
At home, make sure there is enough table space for the children to sit and craft comfortably. If you hire a hall, check the access time, tables and chairs, parking, kitchen facilities and whether you need to take rubbish home afterwards.
We bring the craft materials, equipment and party energy. We set up before the guests arrive, lead the activities and clear away when the fun is finished.
4. Keep the Party Food Simple
Party food does not have to be complicated. Children are often happiest with familiar favourites, so why not order pizza or McDonald’s? Both are popular choices and save you from spending hours shopping, preparing and washing up.
Picnic boxes are another brilliant option. Give each child their own box with a sandwich or wrap, fruit, crisps and a small treat. They are easy to prepare, help reduce food waste and make it simpler to accommodate dietary requirements and allergies.
Keep it simple. Children can be fussy, and you do not want to spend more time planning the food than enjoying the party.
5. Confirm the Final Party Details
One week before the party, confirm the final guest list, activity choices, venue address and any allergies, additional needs or important information we should know.
Send parents a quick reminder with the date, time, address and collection arrangements. Keep your phone nearby on the day in case anyone is running late or cannot find the venue.
Then put down the checklist. You are ready!
